First time grower and planter here. I told myself this year I will just throw it in the soil and see what happens. Right now the bottom of my bean shoots the first few leaves turned a big yellow and dried and died out but the rest look good. What could be wrong and what can I do to fix it?

I’m also a big fan of AgroThrive. Been using it for a couple years also in conjunction with Espoma fertilizers and it really makes your plants pop when it’s applied. My raised beds especially seem to love it. I use synthetic fertilizer when growing out seedlings though to get them as big as possible and once in the garden it’s all organic.

All plants produce heaps more if you top them. Sometimes I'm really surprised when people take off too many side shoots from tomatoes, instead of topping them to produce more yeald (get rid of excess water leaves of course!)💦🌱🗝🙏

I had aphids on starts that weren't in a greenhouse last year. I think it just depends on pest pressure, esp. depending on what's happening at your neighbors' houses with anti-pest vs pro-beneficial factors. We control so little of what influences our yards.

I feel so bad for that person who has stunted seedlings. I was messing around, planted some seeds in ice cube trays, and just sprayed them with some water when they looked dry and they shot up 😂

Funny when you listen to something like this while checking the garden. I immediately put some 75% broken down DARK compost over my LIGHT straw around my peppers. Just when you think you are doing the right thing by mulching with straw you have this aha moment with the notion of heating up the bed. Thank you!

The simplest recipe is Polish sauerkraut. ;-) Chop the cabbage into fine pieces, thin threads, and grate the carrots using a large mesh. The more carrots, the sweeter the cabbage. You mix everything with salt. You put everything in a glass container. The cabbage will begin to release water. You don't add water. you keep the whole thing submerged, the cabbage gives gas for the first two days, you can poke it to help it escape. after a few days you put the cabbage in the fridge and after two weeks from the beginning the cabbage is ready. you can eat it raw, but you can also fry it with other ingredients.

This specific video convinced me to get one over a year ago but I haven't actually gotten one yet but this year i plan to get at least one but hopefully two!
